Call for 2006 Calendar Details and Registration of WCSA Star Tournaments

All member federations are requested to provide their Shooting Calendar details for 2006 as soon as possible. You are also reminded to register WCSA STAR TOURNAMENTS for outdoor and indoor target events.
Registration of indoor events is essential for eligibiity for competing in the
1st WCSA Indoor World Crossbow Championships by Post.
We expect to have supplies of TC900 Stars early in 2006.

WCSA European Crossbow Championships

The 2nd WCSA European Crossbow Championships will be held in Torres Novas, Portugal, 15-22 July 2006. The competition will include Target and 3D. More details later.

The closing date for FINAL ENTRIES is due on 31 July 2005. The Perth organising committee have worked hard to prepare a great event for you. Make sure that all your entry information is sent to Clive Barnett by the closing date. It it not too late to contact the organising committee if you wish to enter.

2nd WCSA Open World Championships, Perth Australia

Here is a reminder that the closing date for PROVISIONAL ENTRIES is due on 31 May 2005. This information is needed to help the Perth organising committee. Plans are well underway and it will be a great event.

The WCSA 2nd Open World Crossbow Championships will be going ahead. It is not too late to enter your national team, or to enter as a club or as an individual.

Be part of history! We are all looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones.

Sporting Crossbow Shooting Rules

A complete revised issue of the Sporting Crossbow Shooting Rules is now available in a pdf format. It is important that anyone wishing to compete in the coming 2005 WCSA World Crossbow Championships, should be familiar with the rules.

Important Rule Changes

Please note that WCSA have approved some changes which will affect the shooting rules for the coming Championships.

  1. Changes of Round for the SPORTING CROSSBOW in Outdoor Target and Matchplay from SC900 to SC600 to allow more time for loading Sporting Crossbows that use a loading device.
  2. An update for the FOREST ROUND - all bolts must be numbered for shooting the Forest Round.

New Zealand National Archery Results

Arbalists competed in the 62nd Advanced Archery National Target Championships in Hamilton, New Zealand 1-7 January 2005. The competition include target and field events. Congratulations to Leonie Moodie, Tony Kemp and Mary Behm who took home trophies. Results.

2nd WCSA Open World Outdoor Target Crossbow Championships - Perth, Western Australia - 24-31 October 2005

Preliminary entries are continuing to come in. We are looking forward to meeting our old friends from previous competitions and making new ones.

Entries are welcome from all national associations affiliated with either WCSA or IAU. This is an open event. Individuals who are members of WCSA can also compete. Please get your preliminary entries in as soon as possible and make sure that you have any necessary visa requirements settled.

We emphasise that if you are coming from overseas, that you enter the country via Perth WA. There are many direct flights from either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. This should make your progress through customs a lot less complicated. Contact Clive Barnett if you have any specific questions.

You are encouraged to make your bookings now and make sure that you don't miss out on this historic occasion. Enjoy shooting with others from around the world. Perth is a beautiful city and is surrounded by wonderful Australian landscapes. Bring the family too!
