Invitation to comment on Draft WCSA Medieval Rules (pdf format file)

Draft WCSA Medieval Rules (pdf format file)

This is your chance to contribute to the development of Competition Rules for Medieval Crossbow shooting. Comments to Clive Barnett or Secretary General.

Medieval or traditional crossbow shooting is very popular in Europe, particularly in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, and other countries. There are also societies of Creative Anachronism or medieval re-enactment groups in many other new-world countries.

Shooting is mainly 3D and Target.

The pictures here are from Sweden, depicting members of the Swedish Crossbow Union shooting in competition and participating in a Medieval Festival.

Most of the equipment is self-made by the shooters, using designs and materials which have not changed much since the 13th Century.

Note the unfinished wooden or horn rotating nut in its wooden housing and steel tickler lever.
